    School Information

    CommUniverCity and residents in the Five Wounds / Brookwood Terrace know how vital good schools are to the overall health and safety of the neighborhood.  

    We care about the progress of our four local schools:
     San Jose High Academy 
     Selma Olinder Elementary 
     Anne Darling Elementary 
     McKinley Elementary 
     
    In 1999, California State legislation established the Academic Performance Index (API).  In the spring, students in public schools grades 2-11 are tested.  The results are used to give schools an API score between 200 and 1000.  The state and federal government hold schools accountable to academic performance by measuring how their API scores change from year to year.
